What Do I Teach?
I tutor all levels of math from 6th grade, 7th grade/Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trig/Math Analysis/Pre-Calculus, MACH5 (DBHS), Calculus AB, Calculus BC, SAT 1 Math, SAT Subject Test Level 2 Math.

How Do I Teach?
I only tutor One-On-One, because that's the most effective method. This way, I can focus on one student at a time and to find out what I can do for the student in each session. I understand that many parents have asked me if I can do classes of 2 to 4. Although it is a small class, and I can probably get to understand each student, but I still won't be able to give each student the attention they need. Especially when I try to go over the homework that I have assigned them, every student have different questions. Some have no question so we can move onto new things, but some students require to take some time to re-teach some concepts.

What's My Fee?
Each session is an hour at the flat rate of $75 per hour no matter what level (new rate starting 6/1/2021).

My Service During School Year

During the school year, I usually recommend 1 session per week. I don't recommend more than once per week, because I am not here to replace the school teacher. I am here to supplement the school teacher. If the student needs more than once per week, this class is either too hard for the student, or the student is not paying enough attention in class. In rare cases, I do have students to come twice a week, but never three times.

My Service During Summer

During the summer, depending on how much the parent wants me to help with the student, usually I recommend to come twice per week, because this way, the student won't forget too much when they come back again next week. I sometimes have students who comes everyday in the summer, because of their limited schedule, so they want to learn as much as they can before they have to go out of the country or joins the summer camp. No matter how many sessions the student can have during the summer, my goal is to help each and every student to review any concepts they previously didn't understand to regain the confidence in math, and to help them to preview new concepts from the next year. I do assign homework during the summer, so the student can use the practice to better understand the concepts.

Who comes for tutoring?
What kind of students comes for my service? I get all kinds of students, and I love all kinds whether they already have an A+ in class, or struggling with borderline C/D, or just being comfortable with a B. My job with each student differs with their goal and parent's expectation. Of course, I would want all my students to have an A+, and I will never stop trying to help them to achieve that. With students who already have A's in class, my job is to strengthen their understanding of the concepts, challenge them with harder questions, asking them why the concepts work, etc... For students who needs to raise their grades to pass the class, I help them to understand how to solve each questions and what to focus on for the test. For students who are in the B range, I encourage them to try harder to get an A- so they can be more confident in math. I enjoy helping all kinds of students, and I believe all students are angels sent from God to my life.
